Secret Place

This is the corner of the deck outside my bedroom. My secret place, and Jack's favorite spot in the sun. Of course I had to paint it , with fall approaching it won't be here long. I started the painting out doors, took photos and finished it yesterday in my studio.

We were at the park playing and I shot some photos of this sweet baby playing in the sand. Mabe we will have a few more in this series.

Porch Vista

It has been awhile since I have posted anything on my blog. Well, I have been a little out of commission. Six weeks ago I had lasik surgery on my eyes. I am happy to report that I now have 20/20 vision which is a great improvement and I am thrilled with the results. I now have to wear reading glasses for close up things and that has been an adjustment, but I have found that I can paint fine without them. There was a few weeks that I was not able to paint. (That was a little scary and unnerving --painting would be my addiction.) Last week I attended a workshop with Todd Williams and I could not get my fill of painting during the day so one of the evenings I set up and painted off of my kids porch South of Bartlesville. This is the painting I ended up with. I have thought about adding my grand daughter out in the flowers and I may still do that.

Hahnbach, Germany

This is a view from the little town my sister lived in when she worked in Germany. I visited her in 2000 and 2001 and recently decided to pull out some of my photo references to paint. This is a small study that I plan to compose a larger one from.
